In September 2015 more than 190 countries met at the United Nations in order to discuss global
development, ending poverty and protecting the environment. They signed up to the 2030 Agenda for
sustainable development, summarized in the 17 Sustainable Development goals. Also known as the
Global Goals, the SDGs are the UN’s invitation to the business community to incorporate creativity and
innovation in business solutions designed to accelerate progress towards this positive vision for the future.
Achieving the Global Goals opens up an economic prize of some US$12 trillion by 2030 and could create
380 million new jobs . Designing business strategies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals means

with the other parts of civil society, consumers and public bodies, thus building relations based on trust
